Results of a translation process research with a focus on learning and documentation

This article describes an empirical research on the translation process with a focus on learning and documentation. It describes and analyzes the translation process of a natural group of students, to better understand how they conceive it, their learning tendencies and their research strategies considering all the available sources of documentation. Through this study, we conclude that the translation process is affected by the translator’s learning preferences and the arrival of new translation resources that alter the course of the process and affect the documentation. Based on this knowledge, we tried to offer useful suggestions for the teaching of translation, which led us to propose a strengthening of translation preparation activities as well as revision activities.
