Resumo: Floating floor, floating slab and double-floating systems, with different floorings, were tested using sublayers (and underlayers) of cork and rubber composites, combined or not, to develop a solution with optimized efficacy in reducing impact transmission noise. It was found that, regardless of the final covering, for floating floor and flooring slab, there is a specifically better sublayer, and that the most effective for sublayer floating slab is also the one that incorporates the most effective double-floating system. In addition, the double-floating system was revealed to be more effective than floating floor, but this was not always the case when compared to floating concrete floors.
