Os ases do passado e as glórias do presente: projeto museográfico

In this context project, two temporary exhibition proposals are developed, to be held in partnership with the Benfica Museum - Cosme Damião, in order to document and contextualize the history of basketball and volleyball, both in Portugal and in the Sport Lisboa e Benfica club.This first chapter presents a historical context of Sport Lisboa e Benfica, from its creation until the present day is made known. Also in this chapter, an introduction is made to the Benfica Museum - Cosme Damião, presenting its history and museological program, considering its contents and areas. After this introduction, the two sports are presented, from the moment they emerged in Portugal, referring to the most important national competitions and the responsible bodies, as well as the course of basketball and volleyball in Sport Lisboa e Benfica. Also in this context, it was considered important to mention the professional career of Carlos Lisboa and José Jardim, two outstanding personalities of each sport. In the third and final chapter, the museographic project dedicated to the two aforementioned sports is developed, considering the objects chosen to the exhibitions, as well as the room texts. It is also explained the thought and objective of the project, taking into account the use of the same space and museographic project for the two sports to be presented at different times.
