A blueprint to assess readiness of value-based health care implementation within health care providers: a qualitative approach regarding organizational culture and knowledge

Resumo: Value-Based Health Care (VBHC)has gained relevance and international exposure since its induction in 2006but is not yet widespread. Pilot projects often fail during implementation, falsely indicating that VBHC is nota promising framework. Ablue print was developed, allowing health care providers to assess their readiness for VBHC implementation, identifying the dimensions and subdimensions needed for success. A qualitative content analysis was conducted to analyze insights of 25interviewed experts. Organizational Culture and Knowledge were identified as overarching dimensions, further dissected and characterized. With organizational culture being considered crucial, knowledge supports, strengthens and complements both leadership and organizational culture.
