Resumo: The prediction of travel time has been studied over the past years and has a high complexity due to many factors that can affect the calculation. Additionally, this issue is a critical point for intelligent transport systems and even for advanced traffic management systems. In this dissertation, will be used data from FP7 project, which comprises hundreds of vehicles equipped with GPS system that ensures full coverage of the main routes in the city of Oporto, Portugal. The travel time can be estimated from historical data and real time data. This work will focus on the calculation of travel time for cars, where the vehicular-network information (great coverage and predictable behavior) will be crossed with information from the users of the application (speeds and behaviors closer to those that occur in the streets) to try to achieve more accurate and robust predictions in urban environment. To validate the calculation of travel time, we will use the GPS data collected from the application sensemycity by non-professional drivers who are a representative sample of the target population
