The traditional ceramic tiles [azulejos] are one of the main elements in the definition of Portuguese culture. Thinking upon the specific nature of their influence in the city of Porto is the underlying reason for a practical architecture experience. The project that we propose, a Mural for Wall Ceramics located in Porto, is therefore the object of study of this dissertation. It allows the discussion to further develop on themes related to the formal conception of the project itself. As a result, the main body of the work is divided into two different parts. The first one questions the relevance of the ceramics as the project's program, through a historical study that provides a grounded actual view on this art. The other one refers to the themes developed throughout the design process, addressed on an extensive, referenced memoir that explores such questions as the site, the intervention on historical context, the design method, and the importance of construction.
