Resumo: | The thesis tries to understand Oporto in his way of being one "agglomeration of different situations", linked by a "delirious" of factors. From that point the title Delirious Oporto, about the city's dynamics. In these pages I explain an argumentation about Oporto and about the contemporary city in general. The city is taken in consideration as city itself, something that is indivisible and made by points of strength: the interior of the city. Four interior of the city are analyzed: the phenomena of the "Ilhas" (slums), the construction and the demolition of Palacio de Cristal, the Centro Comercial Brasilia and Casa da Musica. Studying Casa da Musica I underline the dynamics that it contributes to create in the city, noting them importance. The part of the thesis, where I write about the history of the place and the place where the city is built, helps the reader to understand the importance of the link between the history and the building. Each city's transformation is based on history. And it develops the interior of the city. At the end I will analyse the city as the city itself, taking as reference the Avenida da Boavista. The conclusion about the Portugues city will interest also the city today and the way the citizens interact with the built city. To understand how to act on it. |
