Resumo: CoopMar is a research and development network funded by CYTED (Ibero-American Program of Science and Technology for Development) that promotes active forms of scientific diplomacy, aiming at increasing existing synergies between various partners around a "sea and society" agenda for development. CoopMar enhances the circulation of knowledge among different actors (universities, museums, foundations, companies, public institutions and society in general) and aims to contribute to a transnational and transdisciplinary society of knowledge. It assumes the cooperative exchange of values and visions as an intangible value working as social capital capable of benefiting key port cities in the Ibero-Latin American region.
