The present investigation has as main objective to demonstrate the importance of environmental preservation, where it will seek to point out the international environmental legislation as a basis for this protection and the Angolan legislation that deals with this matter. The study of environmental law is interdisciplinary, as its object establishes nexus and links with other areas of law, to produce diversified knowledge, while always maintaining its own identity. Environmental law does not work as a discipline, but with themes, always analyzing transversally, working in an integrated and coordinated way with other areas of law. In the context of the environmental impacts caused by the oil industry, we will mention the damage caused by contaminants from gas emissions into the atmosphere, mainly from oil refineries. Still, it is important to point out that the environmental impact has no borders and affects all people on the planet, some on a larger scale and others on a smaller scale, such as environmental migrants, or hunger migrants, as they are currently known, coming from the driest region of Angola and its surrounding countries. In this wake, we point out the Angolan environmental legislation for environmental protection and propose the progression of more efficient legal mechanisms for pollution control.
