A casa agrícola em Vila Chã e Fajozes. Uma leitura da sua arquitectura entre o espaço rural e o interior doméstico.

This Master's Thesis is focused on the study, both in rural space as at the domes c interior, of the Farm House at Vila Chã and Fajozes, villages that belong to the Vila do Conde county. Being the rural house characterized by VEIGA DE OLIVEIRA and GALHANO as a true agricultural instrument that adapts to diff erent social , produc ve, technical or symbolic condi onalism, its architecture was studied taking them into account. Now, these houses have the same elements, special and common, than others at Maia, Matosinhos and Vila do Conde, belonging to a rural bourgeoisie and with construc on dates from the same period. This set of characteris cs can be be er understood a er: fi rst, a physical characteriza on of the coastline, secondly, a study of the diff erent dynamics of land use and fi nally a er the analysis of the link between the numerous systems transmission of goods and the humaniza on of the landscape. On the other hand, the study of 3 houses allowed an analysis of the issues considered structural for an characteriza on of the Farm House in the territory under study. Finally, for the period under review, it is concluded that the explana on for the fact that many case studies are reconstruc ons of founda onal houses relates to social and agrarian change and, on the other side, the conclusion that the mode of living and produc on have consequences in the home; rela vely to the present me, one comes to the conclusion that the type of farming produc on and changes in the mode of living is refl ected in Farm Houses.
