Resumo: | This dissertation is the final step of my academic training in architecture, for which I would investigate and reflect on the assumptions that the expansion were the Portuguese Discoveries (from a religious and economic), focusing specifically on the history of the discovery of the islands of Sao Tome and Principe by Portuguese sailors (Pêro Escobar and João de Santarém), the first attempts to fix the place of landing (Água Ambó or Ana Ambó) and its change to the current location in the Baia de Ana Chaves. I propose to further investigate the "model city", with reference to the medieval and Renaissance Portuguese model and also taking into consideration the cities of other islands under the Portuguese, and Funchal, Angra do Heroísmo and Ribeira Grande. Try to summarize the evolution of urban structure of the city, by understanding the various stages of the history of the city of Sao Tome (the fifteenth century until the beginning of the twentieth century), taking into account the initial infrastructure (religious, administrative and defensive) Historical background and the various advances and setbacks caused by several internal crises in the sixteenth century was fertile, as are the revolt of black slaves and mulattoes of the farm of Lobato (1517), to Yoam Roiz Gato (1553), the attack of angolares (1574), the lifting of Amador (1595) and invasion of Dutch and English on 19 October 1599, conflicts that occurred during the cycle of sugar. As the final purpose of this study lies on the cycle of the coffee and cocoa, I will focus on the farms, which is the last step to the inside of the islands, on which address some factors that strengthened, and the drivers of the introduction the planting of cocoa and coffee in the islands. Then speak of its style and its current international, through a description of them, reflecting on aspects such as its location, layout and the functional and social studies as part of the farms "Agostinho Neto" (Rio do Ouro)," Água Ize "( Praia Rei)," Monte Café "," Uba Budo"(Headquarters) and Uba Budo" (Beach). |
