In this study, we explore Lisbon’s nightlife using mobile phone data to discover patterns and trends that can support the Lisbon City Council and other stakeholders in making informed decisions to improve city management. We collected data from multiple sources, including mobile phone data provided by a telecommunications company, and used this to create a dimensional model and Power BI dashboards. These tools explain how various factors, such as COVID-19 restrictions, weather conditions, noise level and cultural events impact nightlife activity in Lisbon. Besides the usefulness of the main findings in optimising Lisbon nightlife services and improving urban planning, this study also contributes to the field of urban studies and data analytics.
