Resumo: Numerous measures to reduce violence against women and its global prevalence have been implemented. Despite this drive, the effectiveness of programmes devised to address the issue has been weakened by a failure to produce the necessary attitudinal change towards women. This paper is set in Venezuela and looks at domestic violence through a post-structuralist lens and trials resources from a toolkit that aims to promote positive attitudinal change amongst young people across varying ages and social classes through a participatory photography intervention. Recommendations are made for using visual communication to engage pre-adolescent and adolescent students and create a deeper analysis of myths that relativise violence.
