Resumo: | The application of Management Systems standards in Organizations, through the implementation of the related individual Management Systems, is aimed to potentiate the efficiency and effectiveness, internal and external, in terms of the needed responses to Customers and other Interested Parties. Along the years, the increasing number of such standards versus individual implementation and certification of the corresponding Management Systems leads to diverse problems that generate numerous inefficiencies that lead to the loss of competitiveness of the Organizations. In this new reality, the Integrated Management Systems and its certification play an important role. The main objective of this work was to obtain relevant information that in several perspectives, would be enable to do characterization of the Integration of certified Management Systems of Organizations located in the district of Braga. For this purpose, a survey as carried out on 170 organizations of different activities. 21 valid questionnaires were received, which represent the sample of this work. The Case Study has as theoretical foundation on concepts of Integrated Management Systems; Management Systems; Models for Integrated Management Systems; Critical Success Factors; and Sustained Success, as well as a relevant number of other related sources. The main findings we highlight are: the characterization of the Organizations of the District of Braga with more than one certified Management System and their level of Integration; the approach and used models to support the Integration; and the Critical Success Factors identified preventively by Organizations to better ensure the successful implementation of the Integrated Management Systems. Globally the Organizations do not use any model for Integrated Management Systems and in terms of the Critical Success Factors the most relevant ones identified by the surveyed Organizations were: Organizational culture and Commitment and Leadership of the Top Management. The least relevant were: the Management Policies, Objectives and Goals and Human and Materials Resources. |
