Resumo: In this text we analyze some similarities and differences between sign languages and oral languages, starting from some recent research. We intend to show that Portuguese Sign Language (LGP) is a natural language in which the combination of the units of the system (the kereme, the sign and the sentence) is carried out by articulating processes of linearity and simultaneity, in a syntactic space with many morphosyntactic, textual and pragmatic potentialities. We will mainly analyze morphological and morphosyntactic areas, related to different types of verbs, their properties and values.
