Music teaching practices in the prison environment: a comparative analysis of case studies

Resumo: | The present research intends to understand the impact of musical education practices and its relationship with the intrinsic and peripheral aspects of the prison system, through the comparative analysis of three case studies already performed by other authors. Initially, concepts that permeate music education and social projects in Brazil are discussed; also, it presents data regarding the development of research in education in the prison environment, aiming to introduce and complement this study. The methodology used is a bibliographic research, which includes two surveys and a project carried out in three criminal units in the states: Rio Grande do Sul, Rio Grande do Norte and Paraná. After a brief presentation of the studies, topics that cover: the scenario, objectives, methodological paths and results are analyzed. Comparing and discussing the points in common, opposites and characteristics in greater evidence, we intend to weave a panorama of the projects and researches in musical education in penal units in Brazil. |

Inicialmente, discute-se conceitos que permeiam a educação musical e projetos sociais no Brasil; também, apresenta-se dados referentes ao desenvolvimento de pesquisas em educação no meio prisional, objetivando introduzir e complementar este estudo. A metodologia utilizada trata-se de uma pesquisa bibliográfica, que abrange duas pesquisas e um projeto realizados em três unidades penais nos estados: Rio Grande do Sul, Rio Grande do Norte e Paraná. Após breve exposição dos estudos, analisa-se tópicos que abrangem: o cenário, objetivos, caminhos metodológicos e resultados alcançados.
