Resumo: Three archaeological campaigns in the Castro of Alvarelhos (Trofa), from 2020 to 2022, made in the scope of CAESAR project, led to the identification of several domestic structures from the 2nd cent. BC to the 4th-5th cent. AD. Sediment samples meant for archaeobotanical analysis were recovered in these contexts and studied at CIBIO-BIOPOLIS. Its study revealed several crops such as rye and millet but also evidences of edible wild fruits such as blackberries. The analysed charred wood was shown to be mostly from deciduous oak, leguminosae species, alder, chestnut, hazel and ash. This article will discuss these results in the scope of the economical and environmental dynamics already known for the region.
