Resumo: | This research attempts to understand better how Big Data Analytics affects modern businesses and how it could impact daily operations in the global supply chain and consumer engagement activities. In order to emphasise the most influential scholars and the range of research topics, a literature review was carried out to reveal the state of the art in this field. The results show that many businesses are already utilising Big Data Analytics to gain a competitive edge by spotting patterns and trends to help them make more informed and robust decisions. Several Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence approaches are also being implemented to automate the collection of data and the ability to process it in real-time. Notwithstanding, there is still a significant research gap about data quality challenges and how to resolve them, as there are still not enough real-world applications to adequately illustrate the benefits of these technologies in ordinary supply chain operations. This research outlines the need for a more in-depth analysis of how Big Data Analytics can be used to restructure a company’s supply chain architecture and provides examples of how Big Data and related technologies can aid businesses in boosting productivity and improving cost-effectiveness. Towards whether these assertions could be implemented in real case scenarios or if the practical reality differed significantly from the theoretical one, all these propositions were explored by interviewing several supply chain professionals using a preset of questions. The key findings from these analyses were then provided at the conclusion of this document. |

The key findings from these analyses were then provided at the conclusion of this document.
