Resumo: Chronic kidney disease is an emerging health problem worldwide. The eye shares striking structural, developmental, and genetic pathways with the kidney, suggesting that kidney and ocular disease may be closely linked. The aim of this paper, beyond exploring the underlying pathogenic mechanisms and common risk factors, is a review of the main diseases with ocular and renal involvement.
