Resumo: | Paulo Furtado was born in September 1970, in Mozambique, into an urban family, the youngest of five brothers (three men and two women). He considers that his parents had a mentality open to experimentation and that, for this reason, they guaranteed all their children the opportunity to discover their paths in new worlds. Paulo's discourse clearly shows his origins in an upper-middle class family, namely through his references to leisure and, more specifically, to the summer holidays, which lasted a long time - around two months - and were spent at Praia das Maçãs. Born in Mozambique 50 years ago and raised in Coimbra, Paulo Furtado first came to the public's attention in the 1990s with the now extinct Tédio Boys. After the end of the band, in 2000, he founded Wraygunn, also in Coimbra, and, in 2002, he made his solo debut as The Legendary Tigerman. In this conversation, which is part of the podcast Sons Pe(r)didos e Achados, coordinated by Paula Guerra and produced by Casa Comum da Reitoria da Universidade do Porto, we get to know a little more about his life story. |
