On 6 April 1983, was Professor Carlos Augusto de Figueiredo Monteiro (CAFM), according to the biography published, as a visiting professor at the University of Tsukuba in Japan, I signed my first contract as a teacher in the then Institute of Geography of the Faculty of Letters the University of Porto. Had finished my degree in June 1982 with a good performance and I was challenged to compete for one of the trainee assistant places that would be open in FLUP. Therefore, the year 1982 was quite turbulent in Portugal. Labor strikes, incidents of deaths in the demonstrations of May, 1, bombings, an attack against Pope John Paul II in Fatima, the Constitutional Review, the local elections, the resignation of Prime Minister Pinto Balsemão, etc. The following year, 1983 began with a deep economic crisis and the FMI entry into Portugal. For all this, the challenge that was released me, and I accepted in 1982, only took place in April 1983. This paper is one a report of the knowledge heritage of the Carlos Augusto Monteiro in Palisade weather in Portugal.
