Resumo: Since the entry into service of the so-called Primary Network in 1951 until the 1960s when the first electricity interconnection between Portugal and Spain was created, the National Transmission Network could be considered a closed system, influenced only by its constituents, but in the year of 1961, more specifically with the creation of the derivation of the 220 kV line between Pocinho and Saucelle, Spain, that this is no longer true. Since then the National Transport Network has belonged to a more complex system, where components outside the RNT could influence its operation, and the malfunction of its elements could influence the operation of the Spanish Transport Network. Over the years, more interconnections have been created and it is to be hoped that this number will continue to grow, along with the creation of interconnections between most European countries, it will then be correct to speak of a European transport network which forms a system extremely complex with millions of elements and variables. Taking these facts into account, new regulations are constantly being created in order to oblige countries to maintain a level of control, security and knowledge of their national transport networks in order to ensure that they are not negatively influenced. regional networks that have identified which critical elements of their networks are most likely to cause a network malfunction and which are more sensitive to fluctuations in cross-border connections.
