The purpose of this project relies on the interaction between illustrator and researchers during the process of making the illustrations for “Symbiosis Tellus”, a comic book about science. First, it is explored the origin and the definition of comics, and the diversity of comics about science. Second, it is discussed the interdisciplinary work and mutual learning during the creative process, including the evaluation of the public’s empathy towards the graphic style. Lastly, it is demonstrated the evolution from the sketches until the composition of the pages. This interdisciplinary work between illustrator and researchers reveals to be crucial, so that better results can be achieved both in the illustrations and narrative.
