Este trabalho estuda a temática da responsabilidade social nas organizações e a sua passagem e concretização aos mercados de investimento financeiro através de fundos éticos. O estudo incide sobre o desempenho financeiro de 18 fundos éticos comercializados por bancos portugueses durante um período de 3 anos compreendido entre 2008 e 2010. Este desempenho é estabelecido com índices de mercado convencionais e não convencionais e é estudado recorrendo a indicadores de estatística descritiva e de desempenho. São igualmente exploradas as relações entre alguns dos indicadores e a importância dos mesmos. Na análise dos dados, apenas 4 fundos apresentaram um desempenho de rentabilidade positivo. Os resultados revelaram a existência de diferenças entre os fundos sociais e o índice de mercado convencional. No mercado ético, só 4 dos fundos apresentaram diferenças de desempenho; ABSTRACT:Socially Responsible Investment: A Financial Tangibility This paper studies the issue of social responsibility in organizations and their operation and implementation in investment markets through ethical investment funds. The study focuses on the financial performance of 18 ethical funds over a period of three years between 2008 and 2010 sold by Portuguese banks. This performance is established with market indexes conventional and unconventional. The results revealed the existence of differences between social funds and the rate of the conventional market. They also explored the relationships between some of the indicators and the importance thereof. In analyzing the data, only four funds had a positive performance in profitability.
