Resumo: The vast extension of the deteriorated social houses complexes, built on a massivescale for a roofless population, determinates the Chilean housing landscape. This fact hascaught the attention of various organizations, which propose diverse strategies of regeneration,all with the finality of improving the urban structure.This dissertation presents two distinct methodologies that attempt to investigate thesubjects associated with the regeneration of social housing projects in Chile, approachingnew urban strategies and intervention methodologies compared to the state programs andpolicies.Through a concrete case study - the Vicunã Mackenna complex - it is also attemptedits revision to the contemporary circumstances and demands, interpreting new livingstandards, without losing sight of the specific Chilean context
