Crowdsourced data to improve municipalities governance Sesimbra’s case: defining, reporting, and analyzing KPI’s for citizen reported occurrencesSmart CitiesCitizen EngagementDashboardsData-driven decisionsKey Performance IndicatorsProject Work presented as the partial requirement for obtaining a Master's degree in Information Management, specialization in Marketing IntelligenceWith people increasingly migrating towards metropolitan areas, there is an immediate necessity to efficiently manage the available resources for the population. Traditional Smart Cities focus mostly on tackling this challenge, however new approaches are starting to gain more traction within governments. Scholar theory indicates that citizens ought to be placed in the focus centre of the cities of the future, becoming the main source of the decision-making process for governments all over the world. Additionally, technology keeps evolving and new applications that foster citizen engagement and collective intelligence appear, generating large volumes of data. Analysing and reporting this data is argued to be the path to bring smart cities to life. In order to become Smart, the “Câmara Municipal de Sesimbra” developed a citizen centralized application: “Nós Sesimbra”, gathering reported occurrences within the Municipality. As stakeholders face issues analysing and reacting efficiently and quickly the generated data, this project aims to, on the strategic side, aid in the process of decision-making, by building a report using a Business Intelligence tool, Power BI. Further, guidelines for use and to derive insights must be provided for enablement processes. The Design Science Research methodology will be used to develop artifacts that provide and satisfactory solution to the given problem. Understanding the current use cases and context will be the key to select measures and KPI’s and to develop fruitfully a relevant report. At the end, stakeholders must be enabled to generate value and improve the quality of life of the Municipality’s citizens, whilst optimizing their internal processes and response times, through the usage of such report.Neto, Miguel de Castro Simões FerreiraRUNSoares, Catarina Martins2023-02-07T01:31:23Z2022-02-072022-02-07T00:00:00Zinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisapplication/pdfhttp://hdl.handle.net/10362/134638TID:202966305enginfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessreponame:Repositório Científico de Acesso Aberto de Portugal (Repositórios Cientìficos)instname:Agência para a Sociedade do Conhecimento (UMIC) - FCT - Sociedade da Informaçãoinstacron:RCAAP2024-03-11T05:13:07Zoai:run.unl.pt:10362/134638Portal AgregadorONGhttps://www.rcaap.pt/oai/openaireopendoar:71602024-03-20T03:48:11.497694Repositório Científico de Acesso Aberto de Portugal (Repositórios Cientìficos) - Agência para a Sociedade do Conhecimento (UMIC) - FCT - Sociedade da Informaçãofalse |
