Resumo: Great poetry works always propose a constellation of words that is directly associated with the uniqueness of a singular poiesis. Poems use these words as heuristic tools, in very particular correlations, and in this sense words such as promise, flame, savagery or screen belong to Manuel Gusmão's vocabulary. Although they also belong to the reader's discourse, these terms acquire a particular sense in the context of Gusmão's work because they draw the poet's map of concepts, his "world-version". What they mean is never paraphrasable because such words are like fingerprints, operators for thought. Analyzing this kind of words we will try to observe how singularity and alterity are articulated in Manuel Gusmao's writing.
