Visa também, analisar qual a relação entre estas últimas e a escolaridade. A amostra foi selecionada por conveniência, fazendo parte dela 55 sujeitos com idade igual ou superior a 65 anos. Os dados foram recolhidos presencialmente e online, através de instrumentos de auto-resposta, nomeadamente, o Questionário Sociodemográfico, Escala de Bem-Estar Psicológico (Novo, 2003) e o Questionário de Ansiedade Face à Morte (Oliveira, 1997). Não se observou a existência de relação entre o bem-estar psicológico e os seus domínios e a ansiedade face à Morte. Não se observaram diferenças estatisticamente significativas no bem-estar psicológico e seus domínios em função do sexo, estado civil, existência de problemas de saúde crónicos, contacto regular com a família, tempo de reforma e frequência de instituições. Sexo, estado civil, existência de problemas de saúde crónicos, contacto regular com a família e frequência de instituições não são significativos para a ansiedade face à morte. Concluiu-se, ainda que o tempo de reforma é significativo para ansiedade face à morte. Por último, verificou-se a existência de uma correlação positiva entre o grau de escolaridade dos idosos e o domínio aceitação de si.Besides the review of the existent literature on the themes of aging, well-being and death, this research has the purpose of studying if there is an association between total psychological well-being, each of its different factors (self-acceptance, positive relationships with others, environment mastery, autonomy, personal growth and purpose in life) and death anxiety. There was also the need to check if some sociodemographic variables, such as sex, marital status, regular contact with the family, existence of chronic illness, retirement time and frequency of institutions (day center, nursing home, senior university) are significant for well-being and its related six factors as well as for death anxiety, bearing in mind the connection between these latter and the level of schooling. The selected sample was selected the most convenient, comprising 55 subjects aged 65 years or over. Data was collected in person and online through self-response instruments, namely, the Sociodemographic Questionnaire, the Psychological Well-Being Scale (Novo, 2003) and the Anxiety Questionnaire Facing Death (Oliveira, 1997). The existence of a relationship between psychological well-being and its factores and Anxiety Face to Death was not observed. There were no statistically significant differences in psychological well-being and its factors due to sex, marital status, existence of chronic health problems, regular contact with the family, time of retirement and frequency of institutions. For the same reason sex, marital status, existence of chronic health problems, regular contact with the family, and frequency of institutions are not significant for death anxiety. However we can conclude that retirement time is significant for death anxiety.
