Resumo: | The I International Symposium of Meta-Evaluation and Knowledge Management in Health Policies occurred on June 15th-16th 2016 in Natal-RN, Brazil. It aimed to promote academic and scientific debate on themes like health evaluation and knowledge management in health policy, as well as to perform a meeting for Policies and Health Systems Observatories. Among its speakers, there were prominent researchers from Portugal and Brazil, who discussed a variety of experiences in their areas of expertise within the general theme of the event. It was a special time of reflection and proposals, which allowed the establishment of bilateral academic cooperation between the two countries and among brazilian researchers in a "collaborative culture" manner, essential to face the current challenges of public health. The important topics of the symposium are summarised in this overview. |

Teve como objetivo promover o debate académico- científico relativo aos temas de Avaliação em Saúde e de Gestão do Conhecimento em Políticas de Saúde, além de realizar o Encontro de Observatórios de Políticas e Sistemas de Saúde. Teve como convidados/expositores destacados pesquisadores de Portugal e do Brasil que discutiram variadas experiências nas suas áreas de especialidade dentro da temática geral do evento. Constituiu-se num momento especial, de reflexões e proposições, que geraram o estabelecimento de cooperações académicas bilaterais entre os dois países e entre os pesquisadores brasileiros numa lógica de "cultura colaborativa" essencial para enfrentar os desafios atuais da saúde coletiva.
