Resumo: This article presents several glyptic items uncovered in Portugal (dat¬ing the 2nd c. B.C. – 7th c. A.D.) and demonstrates the importance of these miniature pieces for the reconstruction of the Art, daily life and believes of the inhabitants of nowadays Portugal. Being the most Western glyptic evidences to Phoenician and Egyptian influence within the Roman Empire, they strengthen former evidence to oriental presence/influence in Lusitania (already demonstrated to Jewish one – see Cravinho 2004: 233 242; Cravinho e Amorai Stark 2006: 521 546). Furthermore, they prove the religious syncretism existing at those times, as well as the magic believes, and enhance the importance of both Jupiter cult and Faustulus myth in the Romanization of a hardly conquered province (Lusitania). On another hand, they show the exploitation of natural resources (quartz, as a row material, gold, silver and cinnabar in their paintings) and the probable trade with Baltic regions in late Roman times (in case of the amber used on nº 11 is not a local product).
