Afetos entre avós e netos e o bem-estar psicológico em jovens universitários

Uma relação positiva existente entre avós e netos é uma relação familiar com grande destaque - constituindo-se como uma variável associada à presença de bem-estar psicológico de ambas as partes. Neste sentido, por existir cada vez mais uma presença assídua e mais duradoura dos avós na vida dos netos, surge a necessidade de explorar e compreender como é que a relação entre avós e netos influencia o bem-estar psicológico dos netos, neste caso, jovens-universitários. Através da aplicação da Escala de Afetos entre Avós e Netos e da Escala de Medida de Manifestação de Bem-Estar Psicológico a um total de 240 jovens-universitários de ambos os géneros, verificou-se que existe, efetivamente, uma relação entre os afetos recebidos e o bem-estar psicológico dos jovens-universitários, nomeadamente nos que se referem à subescala “Amor e Estima”. Assinala-se, ainda, uma discussão relativamente a todos os resultados obtidos associada a uma componente crítica relativamente à temática; Affections between grandparents and grandchildren and the psychological well-being of college students Abstract: A positive relationship between grandparents and grandchildren is family relationship with great prominence - constituting itself as a variable associated with the presence of psychological well-being on both sides. In this sense, because there is an increasing and assiduous presence of grandparents in the life of grandchildren, there is a need to verify and understand how the relationship between grandparents and grandchildren influences the psychological well-being of grandchildren, in this case, young adult grandchildren – college students. Through the application of the Grandchildren’s Received Affection Scale and “Escala de Medida de Manifestação de Bem-Estar Psicológico” to a total of 240 college students of both genders, it was found that there is, in fact, a relationship between the received affects and the psychological well-being, particularly in the subscale “Love and Esteem”. It is also worth noting a discussion regarding all the results obtained, associated with a critical component in relation to the theme.
