Resumo: What name is architect? When is there architecture? Having reached the threshold of the trade, a student chooses, as a final lesson from university, to consult an author whose Œuvre complète - architectural, plastic, theoretical - was born from the resolution to approach these questions as closely as possible. A precise framework, necessary for any synthetic exploration of the architectural thought of Le Corbusier, is quickly determined. It will be the study of house Guiette (Antwerp, 1926-1927) whose purist transparency and extreme coherence, preserved until today, will compensate for any lack of literature. "First conceive, then build", said Le Corbusier. This dissertation takes him at his word, first examining his most fundamental theoretical projects and writings. Through Le Corbusier, the twentieth century appropriated new materials and construction methods to give birth to a new way of conceiving architecture. "It's already quite a revolution." However, in the eyes of Le Corbusier, it was never an end in itself: "Techniques are the very basis of lyricism", he repeated during his numerous conferences. Without having tackled the methodical dissection of this famous aphorism, it seems difficult to approach seriously any of the architect's achievements. In the course of our work, we will realize in particular that the entirety of his work is based on an ever smaller number of fundamental axioms. Our interpretation of house Guiette must be understood as an attempt to flush out one of them.
