This article focuses on LIS systems, analysing the impact of the use of a whole LIS system or a subset of an antenna array. We analyse an LIS system associated with a single carrier with frequency domain equalization (SC-FDE), and with different receiver types of varying complexities. Because it is a function of the number of antennas, the computational complexity decreases when antenna elements that are closer to the user equipment are used instead of the whole LIS. Moreover, with a partial LIS, a reduction of energy consumption is achieved, and mitigation of the interference levels is obtained, allowing a performance very close to that obtained with the whole LIS system.DEE - Departamento de Engenharia Electrotécnica e de ComputadoresRUNMarques da Silva, MárioGashtasbi, AliDinis, RuiPembele, GelsonCorreia, AméricoGuerreiro, João2024-09-27T22:24:20Z2024-03-102024-03-10T00:00:00Zinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/article12application/pdfhttp://hdl.handle.net/10362/172578eng2079-9292PURE: 99742010https://doi.org/10.3390/electronics13061035info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessreponame:Repositório Científico de Acesso Aberto de Portugal (Repositórios Cientìficos)instname:Agência para a Sociedade do Conhecimento (UMIC) - FCT - Sociedade da Informaçãoinstacron:RCAAP2024-10-07T01:38:03Zoai:run.unl.pt:10362/172578Portal AgregadorONGhttps://www.rcaap.pt/oai/openairemluisa.alvim@gmail.comopendoar:71602024-10-07T01:38:03Repositório Científico de Acesso Aberto de Portugal (Repositórios Cientìficos) - Agência para a Sociedade do Conhecimento (UMIC) - FCT - Sociedade da Informaçãofalse
