A série mencionada, exibida pela RTP2 em 2011, contava com seis personagens, dentre eles Gina, uma trabalhadora sexual com sotaque brasileiro e falas hipersexuais. A personagem gerou comoção na época, tendo sido desenvolvido coletivamente um Manifesto em repúdio ao preconceito contra as brasileiras, fazendo com que no ano seguinte a personagem saísse do programa. Tendo como objeto a série e a discussão pública que foi gerada, procura-se compreender a construção do olhar sobre o Outro, aqui a mulher brasileira, a partir de uma hipótese teórica que assenta nas continuidades do mito do lusotropicalismo e através da lente do feminismo interseccional e decolonial. Após uma revisão bibliográfica, em que se fundamentam as duas problemáticas centrais que constituem o enquadramento teórico da presente pesquisa, foram realizadas entrevistas semi-estruturadas com mulheres brasileiras e portuguesas de diferentes setores - desde redes de ativismo até grandes instituições, como a Comissão para a Cidadania e a Igualdade de Género - a fim de conhecer diferentes interpretações desta situação. Mais do que evidenciar os estigmas, este trabalho pretende contribuir para compreender as assimetrias e as disputas de poder presentes na construção da alteridade.Taking as its starting point the tenth anniversary of the exhibition of the television series Café Central, this dissertation has as its main objective to understand the conditions that made possible the naturalization of certain social representations about Brazilian women. The series shown by RTP2 in 2011 had six characters, including Gina, a sex worker with a Brazilian accent and hypersexual lines. The character generated a stir at the time that resulted a collectively Manifesto in repudiation of prejudice against Brazilian women, causing the character to leave the program the following year. From this, we seek to identify which were the conditions that gave rise to such associations, with the myth of Lusotropicalism being presented as one of the hypotheses. In addition, we sought to understand how the Otherness is developed and how it could have influenced in these stigmas, from the lens of intersectional/decolonial feminism. After a literature review, which sought to support the two central issues that constitute the theoretical framework of this research, a series of interviews were conducted with Brazilian and Portuguese women, in order to understand how these representations are understood by them and to what factor they attribute this naturalization. Women from different sectors were interviewed, from activism networks to large institutions.
