Resumo: | There are countless images that make up the context of each one, images shared at a time when technology contributes to its multiplication and manipulation, to its democratization. The increasing speed and accessibility, inherent in the context of images, create in the observer/user the need to filter them, to look at them from a critical point of view. This positioning has its starting point in the recognition of the image as an object of potential knowledge, which both eludes and clarifies. Knowing that the architecture is built from references, nowadays carried through the images, the present dissertation focuses on recognising the operative role of this "tool" in the design methodology. Thus, it is proposed to understand how the collections of images are constructed, the atlas of references found in the "beginning", behind the mental process which origins the buildings we know from the streets and the books. From a careful look at the images of six architects (which collect and work), we intend to understand how the imaginary museums, of those who project, materialize and find their place in the offices. This study had the privilege of getting to know four architectural offices in Porto, to r testimony of the various perspectives and methodologies that precede the project. In summary, the present essay emerges out of an uneasiness transformed into the will to realize how the images influence the act of doing architecture and how one can, in fact, Think Architecture with the images. |
