Resumo: Skarlatou et al. report that afadin function in the developing spinal neuroepithelium controls organization of the midline. Afadin elimination from the motor neuron progenitor zone results in duplication of the central canal, aberrant wiring of dI4-5, V0, and V2a premotor neurons, and loss of left-right limb alternation.
