Resumo: Coarctation of the aorta represents 7% of allcongenital cardiovascular diseases. Constriction ofthe aorta, most commonly distal to the origin of theleft subclavian artery, is present in this anomaly,which occurs twice as commonly in males as infemales. Two-thirds of children who have coarctationdeveloped hypertension.The authors report the case of a young boy (13-year-old), with serious secundary hypertension,which investigation proved to be due to coarctation of aorta.
