A par deste fenómeno surgem estudos que denotam níveis de bem-estar subjetivo (BES) mais baixos na adolescência, principalmente naqueles que se encontram em acolhimento institucional. Tendo em conta as aspirações futuras (intrínsecas e extrínsecas), segundo a literatura, é um construto de extrema importância durante a adolescência e que se encontra ligado ao BES. No entanto, existem poucos estudos que se foquem na ligação entre estas variáveis na população referida. O presente estudo pretende compreender e comparar as aspirações futuras e o BES dos jovens que se encontram em acolhimento institucional (grupo 1) e jovens em risco que vivem com as famílias biológicas (grupo 2). Os resultados demonstram bons níveis de BES na população geral com diferenças entre grupos. Quanto às aspirações, os participantes obtiveram pontuações mais altas nas aspirações intrínsecas. No entanto, são as aspirações extrínsecas que se encontram relacionadas com os níveis do BES. Estes resultados permitiram perceber a perceção dos jovens em relação ao seu BES e aspirações futuras, comparar os grupos e entender o papel das instituições neste sentido.Childhood and adolescence have been increasingly studied considering the associated risk, and for being periods also marked by a significant percentage of institutional care. Alongside this phenomenon, there are studies that denote lower levels of subjective well-being (SWB) in adolescence, especially in those who are in institutional care. Considering future aspirations (intrinsic and extrinsic), according to the literature, it is an extremely important construct during adolescence and is linked to SWB. However, there are few studies that focus on the link between these variables in the referred population. The present study aims to understand and compare the future aspirations and SWB of young people who are in institutional care (group 1) and young people at risk who live with biological families (group 2). The results demonstrate good levels of SWB in the general population with differences between groups. As for the aspirations, the participants obtained higher scores regarding the intrinsic aspirations. However, it is the extrinsic aspirations that are related to the levels of SWB.
