June 2014."The consistency anchor technique allows one to increase the consistency provided by eventually consistent cloud storage services like Amazon S3. This technique has been used in the SCFS (Shared Cloud File System) cloud-backed file system for solving read-write conflicts and to provide strong consistency guarantees (i.e., equivalent to an atomic register) despite the weak consistency provided by the underlying cloud storage services.
