The need to sustain the growth of the world population and the rational use of scarce resources will force all industries, without exception, to pursue innovative solutions that answer the primary needs of humanity. Thus, the agriculture industry is currently under pressure to increase levels of production without damaging the environment. Agriculture 4.0 uses the synergy between precision agriculture, the internet of things (IoT), automatization, and big data to push business efficiency. With the appropriate systems (software, systems, and hardware systems), it is possible to generate and analyze a massive volume of data, facilitating the farmers’ routine and allowing a large-scale production, with quality. Rocket Farm is a startup that uses Agriculture 4.0 and engineering tools to produce an agricultural greenhouse that focuses on optimizing business and farming practices. The Rocket Farm Greenhouse model solves seasonality problems, allowing continuous production for the entire year, reducing the time between each production cycle and consequently, increasing the number of production cycles per year. The operating costs of the model are significantly lower than in most high-tech greenhouses. Plus, the monitoring of environmental parameters and crop growth is guaranteed by automated systems.
