Resumo: Human migration urged us to reflect on feelings resulting from the uncanny and fears facing migrants. We searched in Michel Henry’s theory of barbarism the relationship between life and the common ground, and in psychoanalysis about feelings considered sinister, frightening. It was found in news media scenes of rejections, disregard and disrespect to migrants in borders of many countries. In psychoanalysis, the restlessness against foreigners is the anxiety projected in the other. For the phenomenology of life, it matters the quality of feeling. Walls at the borders are ways to stopanxiety and fear of the threatening unknown that causes uneasiness.

Buscou-se na teoria de Michel Henry sobre barbárie a relação com a vida e o fundo comum e, na psicanálise, sobre sentimentos frente ao considerado sinistro, amendrontador. Encontraram-se em notícias da mídia cenas de rechaços, desconsideração e desrespeito em fronteiras de muitos países, aos migrantes. Para a psicanálise, a inquietação frente ao estrangeiro é a angústia projetada no outro. Para a fenomenologia da vida importa a qualidade do sentir.
