A nova grande ameaça, o novo Big Brother, não são os novos césares mas a globalização anónima que mina por dentro a “singularidade humana”, levando a humanidade à suave desintegração individual e colectiva.Os teóricos que se debruçam sobre o estudo dos populismos identificam-no como uma desordem ou distúrbio democrático, mas simultaneamente como uma fragilidade da própria democracia liberal. A ideia dos populistas de criarem “um povo” e a divisão “nós/eles” assim como a mobilização de paixões e formas colectivas de identificação acarretam algo de perigoso na medida em que criam nas pessoas uma falsa sensação de segurança e de protecção nas suas vidas.Os recentes movimentos populistas pretendem alterar o sistema encontrando-se nele inseridos, submetendo-se ao sufrágio eleitoral e têm como principais características a defesa de um nacionalismo xenófobo e intolerante, o frenético apelo às noções de lei, autoridade e valores tradicionais assim como um revivalismo nostálgico e mitológico da história e da pátria. Na sua generalidade são anti elitistas e anti pluralistas, uma vez que apoiam a soberania popular e a regra da maioria, mas rejeitam o pluralismo e os direitos das minorias. Estamos em sociedades que se dizem democráticas, mas as instituições giram em torno do vazio.Há vários factores que terão desencadeado os movimentos populistas como a estagnação ou degradação dos padrões de vida dos cidadãos, as mudanças demográficas e culturais muito rápidas e uma maior diversidade étnica e cultural.The victory of Brexit and Trump, the rise of Le Pen, the nationalist parties in Austria, the Czech Republic joined the Hungarians, the Poles, and the new windows that are appearing and progressing in the refusal of the blocked powers, facing the hostility of the force of the system. The new great threat, the new Big Brother, aren’t the new Caesars but the anonymous globalization that undermines within a “human singularity”, leading humanity to a smooth individual and collective disintegration. Theorists who address the study of populisms identify it as a disorder or democratic distort, but simultaneously as a weakness of liberal democracy itself. The populists’ idea to create a “people” and the division “we/them”, the mobilization of passions and collective forms of identification, will bring danger in that they build false sense of security and protection in populations and in their lives. The popular movements, intend to change the system, in which they are inserted, undergo electoral suffrage, and have as the main characteristics the defence of xenophobic plus intolerant nationalism, the fanatic appeal to the notion of the law, authority, traditional values and a nostalgic and mythological the history and of the moment and in general, they are anti-elitist and anti-pluralist, because they support popular sovereignty and the rule of the majority, but they reject pluralism and the rights of the minorities. We are in societies that they say they are democratic, but the institutions spin in the void.
