Resumo: | This case-study is focused on the challengesof Alzheimer Portugal’sfuture development, examining the internaland environmentalfactors that affect itslong-term sustainability.Given the finding of this NGO being vulnerablypositionedtowardsa commercial adoption of Dementia specialized care, several strategies are formulated for adapting tothese market changes andresource maximization opportunitiesare examined. For this, a three-step research method is used combining an exploratory research based on interviews, a descriptive research of AP’s financial structure and contextual factors,anda literature review as atool forstrategy formulation.The research highlights the importance for NGOs to create a culture of anticipation in order to benefit frommarket changesand to create a long-term vision for acting strategically when a social mission is close to being accomplished |
