Resumo: The critical role technology plays in hospitality HRM is widely acknowledged but published quantitative empirical research is still modest. This study is set to contribute, albeit in an exploratory fashion, to extant knowledge in this domain by applying a revised version of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM, Davis, 1989) crossed with Fishbein & Ajzen’s (1975) Theory of Reasoned Action. The full model includes two relevant HRM variables in hospitality: job satisfaction and intention to quit. PLS-SEM analysis with a sample of 61 selected hospitality professionals showed a model with high Tenenhaus goodness of fit (.465) explaining on average 30% variance. Overall TAM variables acted as expected suggesting technology acceptance is critical in increasing job satisfaction and preventing intention to quit amongst these professionals. The model offers a theoretic contribution as a moderator effect of social norm was found calling for further TAM refinement.
