No sentido de responder a estes desafios, foi desenvolvida uma nova molécula, a Corifolitropina Alfa (CFalfa), que apresenta um perfil de bioatividade único. Realizamos um Estudo Observacional Analítico Retrospetivo no SMR-CHUC entre Setembro de 2019 e Setembro de 2020. Foram selecionadas 323 participantes. Em termos de resultados, existe uma correlação negativa moderada (R = -0.528, p < 0.001) entre a CFA e o Índice FORT. De modo semelhante, o número de ovócitos em MII e a idade apresentam uma correlação negativa fraca (R = -0.165, p = 0.005). A HAM e a CFA, bem como CFA e o número de Ovócitos em MII e HAM e o número de ovócitos em MII, apresentam uma correlação positiva fraca, respetivamente, (R = 0.360, p < 0.001), (R = 0.238, p < 0.001), (R = 0.294, p < 0.001). Deste modo, o Índice FORT revela-se um bom marcador na avaliação qualitativa e quantitativa da sensibilidade ovárica à FSH. Em mulheres com reserva ovárica diminuída e, de forma independente da idade (não existe associação entre as variáveis CFA e idade, X2 (3, N = 283) = 1.543, p = 0.462), a CFalfa parece melhorar a resposta ovárica destas à EOC (62.7% das pacientes com Índice FORT > 58%, são mulheres com CFA igual ou inferior a 6, independentemente de terem idades inferiores ou iguais a 37 anos ou > 37 anos). Em suma, a CFalfa parece ser uma molécula promissora para a EOC de mulheres más respondedoras e que apresentam uma baixa reserva ovárica (baixos valores de CFA).Poor responders are one of the biggest challenges in Assisted Reproduction technologies (ART). Corifollitropin Alpha (CFalpha) is a new molecule that has been designed to improve ovarian stimulation. We carried out a Retrospective Analytical Observational Study at Reproductive Medicine Unit of the Coimbra Hospital and University Center (SMR-CHUC) between September 2019 and September 2020. Three hundred twenty-three participants were enrolled. The results suggested that there was a moderate negative correlation (R = -0.528, p < 0.001) between the AFC and the FORT Index. A weak negative correlation between MII oocytes and age was also found (R = -0.165, p = 0.005). AMH and AFC, as well as AFC and the number of MII oocytes and AMH and the number of MII oocytes had a weak positive correlation (R = 0.360, p < 0.001), (R = 0.238, p < 0.001), (R = 0.294, p < 0.001), respectively. The FORT Index seems to be a good marker in the qualitative and quantitative assessment of ovarian sensitivity to FSH. Regardless of their age (there was no association between AFC and age, X2 (3, N = 283) = 1.543, p = 0.462), women with a decreased ovarian reserve seemed to have improved ovarian response to the COS with the CFalpha (62.7% of the patients with FORT Index > 58%, had an AFC equal or inferior to 6, regardless of their age being 37 years or over).
