Bolsonaro versus Governors: How Fact-Checking of PT State Governments Embeds Political Disputes in the Context of the Pandemic

Resumo: This article discusses how official fact-check carried out by state governments led by the Partido dos Trabalhadores embed the political disputes between Bolsonaro and governors in the context of the covid-19 pandemic. A Content Analysis (Bardin, 1977) was carried out of the 121 state checks carried out by the governments of Ceará, Piauí and Bahia in the first year of the health crisis, identifying aspects related to the political dispute between the federal and state governments. It was observed that state fact-checking initiatives concentrated most of their production on disseminating the government's version on issues related to the pandemic, and on issues related to conflict axes between the President of the Republic and the heads of state executives. direct reference to political characters. Furthermore, governments implement fact-checking, moving it from the journalistic field to the political field.

Se realizó un Análisis de Contenido (Bardin, 1977) de los 121 controles estatales realizados por los gobiernos de Ceará, Piauí y Bahía en el primer año de la crisis de salud, identificando aspectos relacionados con la disputa política entre los gobiernos federal y estatal. Se observó que las iniciativas estatales de verificación de hechos concentraron la mayor parte de su producción en difundir la versión del gobierno sobre temas relacionados con la pandemia, y en temas relacionados con ejes conflictivos entre el Presidente de la República y los jefes de Estado. Además, los gobiernos implementan la verificación, moviéndola del campo periodístico al campo político.Este artigo discute como checagens oficiais realizadas por governos estaduais liderados pelo Partido dos Trabalhadores (PT) embutem disputas políticas travadas com o presidente do Brasil, Jair Bolsonaro, no contexto da pandemia da covid-19. Realizou-se uma Análise de Conteúdo (Bardin, 1977) das 121 checagens estatais realizadas pelos governos do Ceará, Piauí e Bahia no primeiro ano da crise sanitária, identificando aspectos relacionados à disputa política entre os governos federal e estaduais. Observou-se que iniciativas estatais de fact-checking concentraram a maior parte da sua produção para divulgar a versão dos governos sobre os temas relacionados à pandemia, e a temas ligados a eixos de conflito entre o presidente da República e os chefes de Executivo estadual, fazendo referência direta a personagens políticos.
