Possui como tema, a Arquitectura Termal, Recuperação do Hotel do Peso, reflectindo sobre a recuperação e reutilização do hotel. A oportunidade da escolha deste tema, deve-se ao facto de este Hotel conter vários anos de História e estar integrado num parque termal, levando-nos a ter curiosidade e interesse em estudar a sua relação com o local, uma vez que se insere numa grande zona arbórea e se encontrar perto das fontes e do balneário termal, pois em tempos havia vários aquistas a utilizar o parque, assim como vários estudos sobre as qualidades das águas de Melgaço e algumas “guerras” por posse das terras e exploração das águas. Estudamos também a relação entre os habitantes, visitantes e utilizadores das termas, pois em tempos, todas estas pessoas davam vida e proporcionavam o comércio ao local. Outro dos motivos que nos levaram a escolher a intervenção no hotel, é o facto de este conter uma arquitectura centenária e se encontrar em avançado estado de degradação. A questão central deste trabalho é a recuperação do Hotel, tratando de analisar tudo em seu redor para que o Hotel possa voltar a funcionar com as melhores condições. Depois de uma análise consistente ao local e à história deste, surgiu uma questão fundamental para o desenvolvimento do trabalho. Será que deveríamos manter a linguagem existente ou optar por uma nova linguagem? - Com esta questão, foi feita uma análise a vários casos de referência, percebendo qual as vantagens e as desvantagens que se poderiam retirar, se optássemos por manter ou alterar a linguagem do edifício, uma vez que a estrutura existente não conseguiria acolher todas as características necessárias hoje em dia. Com estas análises concluímos que na recuperação do Hotel seria uma mais-valia, se mantivéssemos a sua estrutura e a reforçássemos pelo interior através de novas características, que possibilitam oferecer mais comodidade aos hóspedes.This dissertation aims to provide knowledge and deepen in the areas of heritage and urban quality of life, especially in the recovery, protection, conservation and enhancement of the built heritage. Has as its theme, Thermal Architecture, Hotel Weight Recovery, reflecting on the recovery and reuse of the hotel. The opportunity to choose this topic, is due to the fact that the hotel contain several years of history and is part of a spa park, causing us to have curiosity and interest to study its relationship with the place since it is part of a large area of trees and being close to the fountains and the thermal spa, because in times there were several aquistas using the park as well as several studies on the qualities of the waters of Melgaço and some “wars” by land ownership and exploitation of the waters. We also studied the relationship among residents, visitors and users of the spa, as with time, all these people enlivened and provided trade to the site. Another reason that led us to choose the action at the hotel, is the fact that this architecture contains a century and is in an advanced state of degradation. The main focus of this work is the recovery of the Hotel, trying to analyze everything around it so that the hotel can get back to work with the best conditions. After a consistent analysis of the location and history, a key issue emerged for the work development. Should we keep the existing language, or choose a new language? With this issue, an analysis was made to several case studies, realizing that the advantages and disadvantages that we would get, if we chose to maintain or change the language of the buiiding, since the existing structure could not accommodate all the features needed today.
