Resumo: The text focuses the possible implications of articulating the ethnographic methodology and the researchmethodology applied in the psychanalytical approach for the comprehension of urban territories whereindividuals presenting abusive uses of alcohol and other drugs are present. For this theoretical-practicalconstruction, the experiences of the authors in the field of psychosocial care of drug users in Brazil and inthe field of ethnography in this type of territories in Portugal were considered for thought. One of themain conclusions of this work relies in the fact that the articulation of these methodologies allows abroader and profounder comprehension of these territorial contexts, considering simultaneously collectiveand individual problems.
