The national HBSC study evaluated the prevalence of self-harm behaviors and associated risk factors in Portuguese adolescents. The sample consisted of 5695 adolescents, of whom 46.1% were boys, with a mean age of 15 years. The results showed that 18% reported having experienced self-harm behavior.
