Resumo: Porphyria cutanea tarda (PCI) associated with human immunodeficiency virus infection was firs­tly described in 1987 and up to now only 56 clini­cal cases have been published in the literature. Recent studies showed a 62% of porphyria cu­ tanea tarda in patients with HIV. ln our clinical case there is an association with HIV infection, chronic hepatitis C, alcoholism and oral contraceptives. ln this context, we believe that in patients with HIV, the role of other viral and toxic Jactors mi­ ght be rekvant in the pathogenesis and develop­ment of porphyria cutanea tarda.

Estudos recentes demonstraram que a prevarencia do VHC em doentes com poifiria cu­tânea tarda é de cerca de 62%. Descrevemos um caso de porfiria cutânea tar­da associada a infecção pelo VIH 1, hepatite cró­nica C, alcoolismo e uso de anticonceptivos orais.
